The trees and the bark is thinner.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> Some background on our cork: It is sustainably harvested without harming the tree in northern China (People are always surprised to learn that cork grows in China).<br /> The outer bark quickly regenerates and the tree continues to flourish, generally improving the tree&rsquo;s health and vitality over its lifespan. We use high densitiy compression to make our cork boards extra tough. Once people try cutting on cork, they are often pleasantly surprised.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> <br /> Chop food, not trees. These hand-crafted cutting/serving boards are indispensable in any kitchen. Thin and lightweight, their gently rounded edges mean no sharp corners. It absorbs little moisture and resists swelling and warping, making it a superior choice for everyday use.<br /> <br /> Our cork boards cushion knife blades for softer action and sharper knives.
