ECORE International has been leading the industry in innovative production development since its foundation in 1989. For over twenty years the company has been engineering new ways to reduce the nation’s landfills and reuse scrap tires to create durable, functional, and aesthetic surfacing solutions.
As a continuation of this commitment to innovation and industry leadership, ECORE spent five years in an intensive research and development phase to create fusion bonded itstru Technology. A result of keen technological foresight and a natural extension of ECORE’s commitment to innovation, itstru Technology factory fuses ECORE recycled rubber underlayment to a variety of modern surface materials. As an extension of this technological foresight, ECORE has developed ECO98, a portfolio of proprietary engineered flooring systems created using the patent pending itstru Technology.
The portfolio of products is based on a foundation that sets new standards in environmental, ergonomic, and acoustical performance.
The ECO98 brand currently features two initial products in its portfolio: Pinnacle and Plains. Pinnacle and Plains are both made with a 100% fiber wear layer made from recycled plastic bottles and a pre and post-consumer rubber backing made from scrap tire rubber containing up to 91% recycled content. For more information on Pinnacle and Plains.
Developing a rubber underlayment is simple, but developing a revolutionary fusion bond where the underlayment adheres to a wear layer is not. It takes time, years of dedication, and a lot of man-power to create a technology that has record-setting levels of recycled content, uses extreme technological advancement, and is completely original. By taking an already proven recycled rubber flooring system and marrying it to another proven flooring system (whether it is polyester, a polypropylene blend, or a resilient surface), the marriage will result in an unprecedented, durable flooring system.
The patent-pending itstru Technology allows a wear layer to be fused to a pre and post-consumer recycled rubber backing containing up to 91% recycled content. This creates a fusion-bonded product with anti-fatigue capabilities that meet and exceed all standards for low VOC emissions. Manufactured by ECORE International, a trusted leader for more than 20 years, this revolutionary technology allows for greater design diversity and more sustainable options for the education, health and fitness, retail, and healthcare space.
